An Approach to Faith by Dr. Napoleon Hill
Here is a story which we would like to pass on to you. A man was driving from Los Angeles to Palm Springs, rolling along just fine - until his car stopped dead. He tried the starter repeatedly, but not a cylinder would fire. Being a business man and no mechanic, he didn't know the first thing about the mechanics of his car. But he got out, lifted the hood and looked in rapt amazement at the confusing array of gadgets which greeted his eyes. Angered by his own mechanical ignorance, he slammed down the hood, locked the car and started down the highway to find a garage.
For nearly three miles he trudged along in the hot desert sun and arrived at a garage in a good sweat. The mechanic drove him back to his stalled car. Now when the mechanic lifted the hood, he knew what to look for, and he loosened a nut on the side of the carburetor, took out a tiny screen, held it up to the sunlight and, after a glance, blew on it quickly. He shook it a few times and put it back in. The engine immediately responded to the starter. All that was wrong with the engine, the mechanic explained, was that the flow of its gasoline had been temporarily shut off by the dust which had collected on the little screen. Being somewhat of a philosopher, the mechanics made the observation that men are like that sometimes their mental screens become clogged and they fail to accept the bounteous blessings with which a generous Providence has surrounded them.
That caused the driver to do some thinking. He has received a tremendous lesson in applied faith. Suddenly he realized how many unhappy situations in life are caused by interruptions of inflowing life-energy from Infinite Intelligence. He understood more clearly than ever before how the screen of the mind, clogged by doubt, fear and worry, could shut off the life-giving inspiration and energy which is forever flowing around us.
This simple story brings us face to face with the matter of applied faith.
We feel keenly the responsibility that we have assumed in attempting in lay before you a practicable, working technique for taking possession of the forces of the universe in which we live. We will do our best to tell you what faith really is and explain the source of its power. Here is a simple method by which you may make faith effective in your life. When you understand applied faith, you will have taken a long step forward toward achieving your objectives.

Cosmic Habitforce by Dr. Napoleon Hill
Here you have a most profound principle; in fact, the master principle through which all natural phenomena are expressed; the power through which all the sciences are relentlessly carried out with invariable certainty; the principle which perpetuates the species of every living thing, causing each to adapt itself to its environment; the principle which fixes the thought habits of man so definitely that man is ruled by his habits.
There are only three principles underlying the voluntary establishment of a habit. They are very important, so remember them well:
A. Plasticity, which is simply the property or capability of changing or being changed. It also implies that once a change has been made, the new form established remains until a subsequent change modifies it. In other words, plasticity is the sort of flexibility found in a piece of modeling clay used by children in school. It may be molded into any desired shape and it will remain in that shape until it is molded into a different shape. Man, of all living creatures, is the only one who possesses this characteristic of being plastic, of being capable of change, and his plasticity lies, of course, in his mental faculties. Man may be changed by external influences or his environment; or he may voluntarily change himself, by exercise of his will power. This prerogative obviously is a basic necessity for the formation of voluntary habits.
B. Frequency of impression. As we have seen, repetition is the mother of memory. It is also the mother of habits. One of the factors affecting the speed with which a habit can be established is how often the action or thought involved is repeated. This, of course, varies with the individual, the circumstances, and the element of time. A thought can be repeated only so many times a day, for instance, and if a man is at work, circumstances may prevent his thinking of the particular habit he wishes to establish. There is also the matter of personal initiative. A man may be lazy and indifferent, or he may be ambitious and energetic. This will affect the number of times he will repeat the action or thought. This, in turn, affects the length of time it will take him to establish the habit.
C. Intensity of Impression. Here is another variable in the process of establishing a habit pattern. All through these principles you have been told of the importance of a strong, compelling motive, and a burning desire, as essentials. Here is the reason. If an idea is impressed upon the mind, backed with all the emotion you are capable of, it will become an obsessional desire. Thus it will have a greater impact than if you simply express an idle wish, even though the words you employ are identical. The degree of intensity of impression is, therefore, another factor which affects the speed with which a habit may be developed and set.

Patience and Perseverance Are Essential Ingredients to BIGTIME Success

You've heard a lot more about the Law of Attraction recently . For nearly 10 years, I've been using it consciously to create my ideal business, on a daily basis, in addition to disciplined marketing strategies.
You've heard a lot more about the Law of Attraction recently . For nearly 10 years, I've been using it consciously to create my ideal business, on a daily basis, in addition to disciplined marketing strategies.
With anything in life, if you don't KNOW where you're going, you'll either eventually get lost or it'll take you a long time to get there, much longer than necessary. If you're heading out to drive cross-country and choose to do it without a roadmap, it may not even make sense to head out in the first place. Worse, if you don't consciously choose what you want, you will continue to attract by default what your unconscious mind wants to attract.
Over the years, I noticed that certain entrepreneurs were really wishy-washy about what they want or wanting it for the wrong reasons. BIG mistake. A single focus will help you market AND manifest what you want, much faster. Not knowing what you really want creates confusion in both your marketing AND your manifesting. Here's what I mean.
Say one day you decide that you want to attract a full practice of 20 clients, and you set that intention. But the next day, you decide that instead, you're interested in only 5 private clients and 3 group programs. That same afternoon, you decide you don't want ANY private clients, but instead, you want to only deal with groups. (This happened to a client just this week.)
If you know that what you focus on is what you bring into your reality, both in terms of manifesting, but also in the Law of Attraction (which I call manifesting) then you're essentially sending the wrong message over and over again to the Universe (or your subconscious mind, whichever you prefer).
Some may not see this as a big deal, but it actually is. Take this scenario as an example: You're hungry and decide to have lunch in the "Law of Attraction Diner". Your waitress is the "asking", your order is what you'd like to eat, and the short-order cook in the kitchen is the Universe, ready to send you exactly and precisely what you desire and ordered.
You tell the waitress that you'd like to eat a grilled cheese sandwich. She responds, "Your wish is my command" and starts walking over to the short-order cook's window with your order slip. Before she hands it to him, you stop her, call her back to the table and tell her you've changed your mind.
Instead of the grilled cheese sandwich, you've decided you now want a tuna salad sandwich. She comes back to your table, crosses off the previous order, and scribbles down the new one. She says, "Your wish is my command" and starts walking over once again to the short-order cook's window with your revised order slip.
But before she has a chance to place your order for the tuna salad sandwich, you wave her back to your table and tell her you've changed your mind once more. You're now interested in eating a meatball sub, and you send her back with this new order.
As do this over and over again, the waitress never actually reaches the kitchen. If this continues, will you ever get to eat? Probably not for a while. And worse yet, you'd probably complain that your food was late, but in fact, here's what's really happened.
YOU are the one and only reason it was late getting to you.
Now imagine that this is exactly what's happening when you aren't clear about what you want your practice to look like, how many clients you'd ideally like or the revenue you'd like to make. Many entrepreneurs do this every day. And as you keep changing your mind, your "order" never actually reaches its destination and can never be answered! This may seem like a no-brainer to you, but look deeper and you're probably making that same mistake (hundreds of my clients have been guilty of this.)
Your indecision is what gets in the way! If you're not clear about what you want, you're sabotaging both your marketing AND your manifesting. In terms of marketing, you'll find yourself waffling, not really knowing where to focus your efforts, where to find your ideal clients, etc. In terms of Manifesting, you'll wonder why what you want isn't "arriving" quickly enough. This is why it's absolutely essential that you get CRYSTAL CLEAR on what you really want, especially as we head into a New Year.
Your Client Attraction Assignment:
If you realize that you can have anything you want, then the question becomes, what DO you want in this coming year? Make a "date" with yourself for some quiet time over the slower holiday season. Turn off your computer, turn the ringer off the phone and put a Do Not Disturb sign on your office door. Get a notebook and a pen and start imagining what you'd like to have for your practice.
If you realize that you can have anything you want, then the question becomes, what DO you want in this coming year? Make a "date" with yourself for some quiet time over the slower holiday season. Turn off your computer, turn the ringer off the phone and put a Do Not Disturb sign on your office door. Get a notebook and a pen and start imagining what you'd like to have for your practice.
A note of caution. What you're looking for here is to put down what YOU really want, NOT what others are doing, not what others say you SHOULD want and certainly not something you'd be unhappy with. Here's why.
If you put down something that's inauthentic for you or doesn't ultimately get you excited, then that "negative" energy will prevent you from feeling good each time you think about what you'd like to attract. And when you don't "feel good" about what you'd like to attract, you won't be in alignment with it and simply won't get it. So, get busy with the following:
- How many clients would be ideal for you in 2009?
- How much revenue would you like each month this year?
- What kind of clients would you be really happy with?
- If anything could be possible, how much time off do you dream of, per week, per month or per year?
- How easily would clients come to you?
- Would they pay you easily and eagerly?
- Would they receive massive value from your work and tell everyone about you?
- Where will you work?
- How would you describe (in detail) your ideal and typical day if you were to have all of these things?
- How will you feel having already achieved this?
I've been using this technique to nearly double my revenues each year . It works. So, set an intention statement (or two pages' worth, as I do) and read it daily. Carve it into your both your conscious and subconscious. You'll be amazed by the results, both in a marketing sense, AND in a Manifesting sense.

I've always had a cheque written to my name with the amount I would like to manifest at any one time in my wallet. I see this cheque all the time and I've often had to increase the amount once I reach my target.
